 1) der, auch das, -s/-s, Literaturwissenschaft: das einem epischen oder dramatischen Werk zugrunde liegende Handlungsgerüst. Im Unterschied zu dem vergleichbaren allgemeineren Begriff Fabel jedoch primär auf die logische, v. a. kausale Verknüpfung der Handlung und Charaktere bezogen (z. B. der Plot eines Kriminalromans).
 
 2) die, -/-s, Schiffsnavigation: Plotter.
